As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of accounts whilst supporting Account Managers on the development of key accounts.

The Account Executive role varies a lot which means you are constantly learning, facing different challenges and expanding your knowledge about running a successful affiliate program. In one day you could be dealing with a technical issue and deciphering source code, the next minute you could be helping a client organise a fashion blogger affiliate day or webinar. The Account Executive role due to its variety ensures you are developing a whole range of key skills which will set you in good stead for considering Account Manager opportunities in the future.

The ability to think quickly and learn fast is key. Being able to prioritise your workload and handle tasks in a timely manner is also a talent you’ll pick up quickly! You’ll meet a whole range of personalities in your client base so being personable is essential. Some clients will want to talk about your weekend antics and others you’ll always be on a ‘Kind regards’ basis.

Assisting the Account Manager on looking after key accounts is imperative and includes everything from amending sales, delivering proposals to dealing with transaction queries and providing post-performance analysis. You will also have your own projects that you work on which includes recruiting and engaging with publishers to the network. This allows you to keep an eye out on our top affiliates and pick up on what type of affiliates we are relying on most and where we could optimise our clients' campaigns. It is also your job to see how we can work with smaller publishers, namely good quality content sites. Building relationships with them will yield loyalty as we help them to grow their own business.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Whilst the below is a guide to the general expectation of the role, we expect this position to evolve allowing you greater scope to gain both knowledge and experience within the online and affiliate marketplace.

  • Deliver excellent service and relationship management to clients and agencies across both assigned accounts and support accounts
  • Manage publisher relationships necessary for the successful management of assigned programs
  • Initiate and implement ideas to grow affiliate activities in line with the needs of clients and assist clients in the creation of quarterly and yearly strategies
  • Take 100% ownership of assigned accounts delivery and service levels and proactively providing insight to Managers
  • Have regular meetings/calls with all clients and affiliates and develop excellent relationships with both assigned and support accounts
  • Organising exposure on a weekly basis and ensuring assets are sent to affiliates in a timely manner
  • Work with Account Managers to ensure programs are executed flawlessly and monitor performance to ensure any issues are dealt with quickly and professionally
  • Be committed to learning how to use all internal systems and tools required to run programs
  • Communicate with the client/agency on performance supported by the generation and delivery of regular reports and presenting monthly and quarterly reviews
  • Trial new affiliates or new technologies in order to grow affiliate programs and collate affiliate information to present new opportunities to clients
  • Create documents that support and ease the daily workload for the client
  • Attend appropriate client and networking events to enhance client relationship development
  • Be the internal owner of all assigned accounts and be fully informed and able to provide information when required, to include metrics, objectives, and status
